The method involves introducing food (A) or objects with an adequate quantity of water (E) into a tightly closed recipient, where the recipient has a bowl (1) and a lid (6). The water is boiled and steamed under pressure by microwave produced by magnetron (2). The microwave is brought into the recipient via a waveguide (3) and a watertight window/connection (4) having a separator (4a) and a ring seal (4b). The window/connection is pressure resistant, permeable to microwaves, and mounted in a microwave inlet opening (5) arranged in a constitutive element of the recipient. An independent claim is also included for a microwave pressure cooker or steam sterilizer comprising a recipient.
