A method for transmitting data for the simultaneous reproduction of plural video contents, an apparatus thereof, and a method for reproducing plural video contents simultaneously, and an apparatus thereof are provided to output plural video contents on a screen simultaneously, thereby removing inconvenience that a user has to switch channels frequently for searching a channel and enabling the user to check the content of the other channel while searching the channel. A TV(930) transmits list information specifying plural video contents to be simultaneously reproduced to a server(920). The server encodes the plural video contents specified by the received list information to a single video content and transmits the encoded video content to the TV. The TV decodes the received video content, realigns the position of the video contents included in the single video content, and outputs the video contents on a screen.
