PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a cellulose ester film capable of forming a wide thin film by a drum system with respect to a cellulose ester film suitable for the polarizing plate protecting film of a liquid crystal display device, suppressing the vibration of a dope casting part or the cast lateral stage failure (the irregularity in the longitudinal direction of the film) caused by the vibration of a dope casting part or the vibration of a ribbon, reducing the involving amount of air and enhancing film productivity. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the cellulose ester film by a solution casting film forming method, in case that the dope casting position to a cooling drum (1) by a casting die (2) is set to the range of 180-340°in a case that the uppermost part of the cooling drum (1) is set as a reference point of 0°and the rotary direction of a drum is divided into 360°and the release position of the film (web) (10) on the cooling drum (1) is set to a position of a range of 180-330°from the dope casting position in a case that the dope casting position is set to a reference point 0°and the rotary direction of the drum is divided into 360°.
