PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily form a tap connecting lead of a coil in a tap change type transformer. SOLUTION: In this tap change type transformer, the high voltage side coil comprises a first winding 1a1 formed of a rectangular wire 101 and a second winding formed of a round wire 102, and the tap connecting lead at the winding end of the first winding and the tap connecting lead at the winding start of the first winding are made to form a common wire, and at the tip thereof, both tap connecting leads are electrically connected together. Further, when the second winding is formed of a plurality of windings, between two adjacent windings, the round wire tap connecting lead at the winding end of one winding and the round wire tap connecting lead at the winding start of the other winding are made to form a common wire.
