PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush seal preventing the wear from steadily increasing and eliminating the effect by turbulent flow. SOLUTION: This downstream side brush seal 29 comprises a brush seal bristle 39 so fitted to a seal box 21 that the end can be brought into contact with a downstream cylindrical part 25 and formed of wires 47 and a downstream side support plate 45 fitted to the brush seal bristle 39 adjacent to the flowing direction 9 of combustion gas and restraining the motion of the brush seal bristle 39. The downstream side brush seal seals the combustion gas flowing between the seal box 21 and the downstream cylindrical part 25. The brush seal is characterized by comprising a suppressing bristle fitted to the brush seal bristle 39 in the flowing direction 9 of the combustion gas adjacent to the opposite side of the downstream side support plate 45, preventing it from giving damage to the downstream cylindrical part 25 even if it is brought into contact therewith, and having an elasticity that does not obstruct the contact deformation of the brush seal bristle 39.
