PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a protruding part formed in the side part of a straw which makes heating unnecessary and can reduce costs by reducing processes when the protruding part of a straw body is formed, and an apparatus for processing the projected part of the straw which is simple in structure, can be miniaturized, and can be provided inexpensively. SOLUTION: In the processing method, an upper mold 2 and a lower mold 3 in which circular arc grooves 21 and 31 made the curvature of the straw body 1 are formed are used, after the straw body 1 is supplied to the circular arc groove 31 of the lower mold 3, the upper mold 2 is brought down, the circular arc groove 21 of the upper mold 2 is pushed to the straw body 1, and the side part of the straw body 1 is protruded between the upper surface 32 of the lower mold 3 and the lower surface 22 of the upper mold 2 to form the projected part 11. As the apparatus for the method, it is at least composed of the upper mold 2 in which the circular arc groove 21 having a curvature approximately equal to that of the periphery of the straw body 1 is formed and the lower mold 3 in which the circular arc groove 31 equal to the circular arc groove 21 is formed.
