The invention relates to a parking hand brake for vehicles which are equipped with a lowering lever, comprising: an actuation means (2) which can move from a braking position (B) to a brake release position (A) or vice versa by pivoting in relation to a first axle of rotation (6), and a lever (1) which is used to pivot the actuation means (2) in relation to the first axle of rotation (6). The aforementioned lever (1) contains a pin (4) and can be lowered to a rest position (C) by pivoting in relation to a second axle of rotation (20), such that the actuation means (2) is maintained in the braking position (B). In the rest position (C), the lever (1) covers at least part of the actuation means (2). The above-mentioned pin (4) can be moved axially in order to act on a pawl (3) which co-operates with a static toothed section (5), said pawl (3) being maintained separate from the pin (4) in the lever (1) rest position (C).
