<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellently safe ameliorating agent for constipation simply incorporable in life style of eating and capable of ameliorating constipation symptoms and to provide an edible composition comprising the ameliorating agent formulated therein. <P>SOLUTION: The ameliorating agent for the constipation comprising actinidine, the actinidine and ascorbic acid or the actinidine, ascorbic acid and dietary fibers as active ingredients is provided. The active ingredients preferably contain an extract obtained from a kiwi fruit and at least the actinidine in the active ingredients is preferably coated with a hydrophilic substance.
