<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive nonaqueous electrolyte lithium ion secondary battery having high discharge capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte lithium ion secondary battery is composed of a positive electrode using a lithium-containing metal composite oxide as an active material, a negative electrode using a metal composite oxide having amorphous structure, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive active material is a nickel-containing lithium composite oxide represented by formula: Li<SB>x</SB>Ni<SB>1-y</SB>M<SB>y</SB>O<SB>2-z</SB>X<SB>a</SB>(M is at least one element selected from group 2 elements, group 13 elements, group 14 elements in the periodic table, and transition metal elements; X is a halogen element; 0.2<x≤1.2; 0≤y≤0.5; 0≤z≤1; 0≤a≤2z). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
