<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymer electrolyte inexpensive and easily manufacturable while having sufficient proton conductivity, alcohol resistance, and strength usable for a direct methanol type fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: A norbornene based ring-opening polymer is obtained by ring-opening polymerization of a norbornene based monomer containing an aroma ring, and a ring-opening hydrogenated polymer is obtained by hydrogenating 80% or more of a non-conjugated carbon-carbon double bond by reacting hydrogen with the ring-opening polymer. Thereby, the solid polymer electrolyte containing the aroma ring having an ion exchange group, and containing the hydrogenated product of the norbornene based ring-opening polymer in which 80% or more of the non-conjugated carbon-carbon double bond is hydrogenated is obtained by bonding the ion exchange group to the hydrogenated product. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
