PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light quantity adjusting device capable of obtaining a pupil time-division function with compact constitution. SOLUTION: The light quantity adjusting device 7 includes: a substrate 21 having a fixed aperture 21-a through which light is made to pass; first and second light shielding members 22 and 23 forming a variable aperture AP through which the light is made to pass; and first and second actuators 24 and 26 respectively moving the first and the second light shielding members relative to the substrate. In view in a light passing direction, at least a part of the first and the second actuators is arranged within a range equal to or under the diameter of the fixed aperture from the center of the fixed aperture.
