PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base for antenna capable of improving a gain of a plate-like antenna, and advantageous in ensuring the strength of received signal. SOLUTION: A base 10 for antenna comprises a base mount 12, a body plate 14, a reflecting plate 16, and an antenna support 18 for supporting a plate-like antenna 22 receiving radio waves for television broadcast at a separated position in front of the body plate 14. The reflecting plate 16 is formed with conductive material reflecting radio waves and attached on a rear surface 1404 of the body plate 14. The reflecting plate 16 reflects radio waves to be received by the antenna 22, towards the antenna 22. When the antenna 22 is supported by the antenna support 18, the antenna support 18 places the antenna 22 at a position where a relationΔL≈λ/4 is satisfied.
