PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtering method for a specimen sample, capable of preventing quasi-positivity or clogging from being generated, while keeping its sensitivity, in a handy testing method for a specimen using a membrane assay method, and to provide a method capable of detecting and quantitatively determining an object to be detected with high accuracy, and also to provide a kit used in the method. SOLUTION: In a handy membrane assay method, the specimen sample, containing the object to be detected, is filtered by using a filtration filter, and then an existing measurement object in the specimen sample is detected and quantitatively determined, on an assay apparatus equipped with a membrane, to which a capturing reagent for capturing the measurement object is attached.
