PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire air pressure generating device capable of determining driving/non-driving of an air pump provided in a wheel and rotated and driven by the wheel. SOLUTION: The tire air pressure generating device is equipped with the air pump AP provided in the wheel, capable of being driven by the rotation of the wheel and capable of generating pressurized air supplied to a tire air chamber Rb of the wheel by driving and with a control valve device VA for controlling driving/non-driving of the air pump AP to maintain the tire air pressure of the wheel between a lower limit set value and an upper limit set value. The wheel is provided with a torque sensor (Stfl, Stfr, Strl, Strr) for detecting driving torque of the air pump AP, and an electric control device ECU is provided with a determination means for determining the driving state of the air pump AP based on the detection torque value by the torque sensor (Stfl, Stfr, Strl, Strr).
