PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of a robot capable of easily removing dirt even when the dirt is attached to a cover covering a joint part. SOLUTION: The joint part for connecting a link 2 and a link 3 of a robot body is covered with an expansible/contractible cover 1, the cover is expanded by an expansion/contraction means 4 when it is cleaned, and the surface of the cover 1 in the expansion state is cleaned by a cleaning part 5.
