The present invention provides a sheet member container from which sheet members housed in a stacked state can be taken out reliably and in which occurrence of a wrinkle in the next sheet member in returning operation of sheet feeding means is reduced. The sheet member container has a container body 1 having a top face opening for containing stacked sheet members 10 ; a lid member 15 for openably/closably closing with respect to a top face opening 6 of the container body 1 ; and sheet feeding means 30 provided for the lid member 15 for feeding the sheet members 10 one by one from the top via a slot 25 formed in either one of the container body 1 or the lid member 15 . The sheet member container has bending means A for bending the sheet members 10 housed in the container body 1 in a direction orthogonal to a feeding direction of the sheet members.
