PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect an object in the periphery of an automobile. SOLUTION: This object detector finds and stores a prescribed feature amount of the object existing in a coverage 201-S of the first sensor 101, and finds a relative distance with respect to the object, based on the feature amount of the object stored in a storage device, and based on the prescribed feature amount of the object found by analyzing a recognition result processed by a processing part for processing a result recognized by the second sensor 102, when the object is moved from the coverage 201-S of the first sensor 101 to a coverage 201-M of the second sensor.
