PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present automatic preparation of moving image contents to a user. SOLUTION: A plurality of hours, i.e. 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., are set in a recording apparatus 1; and when the conditions for preparing photo-movie are satisfied at one of the hours, the recording apparatus 1 automatically prepares a photo-movie at the timing, by using still images recorded in a hard disk and records the prepared photo-movie in the hard disk. The photo-movie are moving image contents such that BGM is output, according to the display of still images of a slide show type. Automatic preparation of the photo-movie is presented to the user who is operating the recording apparatus 1. The present invention can be applied to equipment that can handle still images.
