PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power terminator which is suitable for use in dealing with a high electric power in a gas atmosphere or a high vacuum. SOLUTION: The power terminator is equipped with a flange 11 provided with an open area for introducing a high-frequency power in the axial direction of a pipe shaft, and a first waveguide unit 12 and a second waveguide unit 13 extending from the flange 11. The first waveguide unit 12 becomes gradually large in inner wall cross-sectional size from an open surface toward a terminal unit 14 centering on the pipe shaft. In the second waveguide unit 13, the height of a magnetic field plane becomes low toward the terminal unit 14 making a part of the second waveguide unit 13 serve as a starting point, at which an inner wall cross-sectional size becomes maximal, that is, a part of the second waveguide unit 13 separated from an open surface by a distance 1/4 as long as the effective wavelengthλof high frequency in a basic transmission mode, and a power absorber 15 is attached to a part, which is vertical to an electrical field, of an inner wall up to the terminal unit 14.
