PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intuitive user interface style for a communication terminal. SOLUTION: The communication terminal equipped with a user interface has a controller which controls the user interface, three multifunction keys by which the operation is controlled by the controller, and a display which has a dedicated area for displaying the currently performed function when the three multifunction keys are depressed. The communication terminal can take two or more statuses, In each status, a group of functions which is performed by depressing the multifunction keys, is defined. The first key of the three multifunction keys is dedicated for performing as a default one function out of the functional group. The second key is dedicated for providing access to a function included in the present functional group of the communication terminal.
