PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve capable of forming more cavitation bubbles in fuel flowing in the fuel injection valve than former valves. SOLUTION: In the fuel injection valve 1 injecting fuel containing cavitation bubbles formed in a fuel channel 10 from an injection hole 4 through the fuel channel 10 formed between a valve body 2 and a needle 3, a projection part 20 projecting into the fuel channel 10 so as to form a cavitation formation passage 11 having a reduced channel section area of the fuel channel 10 as compared to before and after the same to form cavitation bubbles in fuel is provided on a wall surface 2b of the valve body 2, and the projection part 20 is provided with a retreated part 23 in which a side surface 22 of the projection part 20 provided along the fuel flow in the cavitation formation passage 11 is retreated in a range not to reach a wall surface 2b to expand channel section area of the cavitation formation passage 11 in a downstream of an inlet part of the cavitation formation passage 11.
