PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure, to miniaturize a device, and reduce costs. SOLUTION: This sheet conveying device 200 is provided with a jam processing cover 206 opening and closing a device, and a sheet conveyance path 214 which conveys and guides a sheet and is opened and closed with opening/closing of the jam processing cover. The sheet conveying device is further provided with a plurality of sensors P1, P2 and P3 which detect documents passing through the sheet conveyance path 214.
