PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rudder for ships, capable of preventing breakage of a main body by setting a rudder fin at a predetermined force or more of pressure, impact or the like while ensuring efficient steering property. SOLUTION: The rudder comprises a rudder plate 15 including aligned propellers installed to a propeller shaft, and a pear-shaped or airship-shaped rudder fin extended in the axial direction of the propeller shaft in the rudder plate 15. The wall surface part of the rudder fin is composed of a plurality of wall surface constituting members 30 while forming a scheduled breakage line 40 or scheduled breakage point on the wall surface part, so that the rudder fin is broken by a predetermined force or more of pressure, impact or the like.
