PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polylactic acid composition having high molecular weight and high stereo-complex crystal content. SOLUTION: The invention provides a polylactic acid composition containing (i) 100 pts.wt. of a polylactic acid and (ii) 0.01-10 pts.wt. of a triclinic inorganic nucleation agent, and having a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) of≥120,000 and a stereo-complex crystal content (X) of≥80%, and a method for producing the composition.
