<p>A device useful for maximising the use of the hamstring and glute muscle groups during a leg lunge comprises a cradle having an inclined supporting surface adapted for receiving a heel of a users forward foot such that during a leg lunge the users heel bears the majority of the resistance. The incline on the supporting surface is disposed such that the users weight is predominantly distributed through the users heel, thereby focussing effort on the hamstring and glute muscle groups, especially the hamstrings. A method of performing a leg lunge that employs the device of the invention is also described.</p> |
