PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging apparatus which prevents damages to a terminal and to a portable telephone body due to collision of the portable telephone with the terminals, by protruding the terminals, before the portable telephone is placed completely in a placement section. SOLUTION: Until equipment is completely placed on a placement section, by abutting a turn lever 22 against a turn lever support part 44 of a terminal holder 23, abutting of the lock release button 25 of a turn arm 21 against the pressing part 75 of a rotation lock part 56 is delayed, and respective terminals 43 is suppressed from protruding. When the equipment is placed completely on the placement section, by the turning of turn lever 22 in the direction opposite to that of energizing, the lock release button 25 of the turn arm 21 presses the pressing part 75 of the rotation lock part 56 and make the rotation lock part 56 turn, and releases the state in which the support part 74 of the rotation lock part 56 supports the run-on part 45 of the terminal holder 23. As a result, the terminal holder 23, energized by a spring member 80, turns toward the protruding directions of the terminal 43, and the terminal 43 is made to protrude from the placement section.
