PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that although a compressed encoded digital signal from a terminal station is expanded and decoded to monitor speech communications of a plurality of terminal stations at a wired terminal station, a digital signal is compressed and encoded again to be sent to the terminal station of a communicating party and then speech deterioration is caused. SOLUTION: A digital radio communication system comprises a line control unit, the wired terminal station coupled to the line control unit, a base station coupled to the line control unit, and the plurality of terminal stations connected to the base station by radio lines. Each of the terminal stations has a signal processing unit which compresses and encodes a speech signal. The line control unit has an I/F unit which receives a compressed encoded signal from the base station, a line switching unit, and a speech synthesizing unit, and is configured to expand and decode a portion of the compressed encoded signal from the base station by the decoder of the I/F unit, supply the portion to the wired terminal station through the line switching unit and speech synthesizing unit, and transmit the rest of the compressed encoded signal from the base station to other terminal stations through a compressed encoded signal transmission line and the line switching unit.
