PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small female contact in which a top end face of a corresponding male contact such as a tub or a pin or the like can be averted from colliding with a contact portion of a resilient contact member. SOLUTION: The female contact 1 includes the resilient contact member 14 having a contact portion 14a to contact with a corresponding male contact 30. The resilient contact member 14 is provided with a projection 15 to move the contact portion 14a from its original position, before a top end face 31 of the male contact 30 butts against the contact portion 14a.
