<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure, to facilitate assembling work, and to provide a fail safe function avoiding a steering lock state during traveling of a vehicle, in an electric steering lock device to which an electric motor is coupled to a rotation member operating to slide a lock member capable of engaging with a steering shaft through a deceleration mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: On a control board 70 stored and fixed in a casing, a control unit 71 controlling the operation of the electric motor 33 is arranged, and a vibration sensor 73 detecting vibrations generated in the casing during at lease either one of engine operation or vehicle traveling is attached. When the vibration sensor 73 detects vibrations, operation control of the electric motor 33 by the control unit 71 operating to slide the lock member to an engaging side with the steering shaft is prohibited. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
