PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray mounting position detection device capable of improving work efficiency and precision in detection while ensuring application to objects to be transferred having various heights and simple tracking work. SOLUTION: This tray mounting position detection device is provided with a conveyor 4 for mounting many trays T on it and conveying them. Width of the conveyor 4 is set to such dimension that allows a plurality of trays T to be mounted in parallel on it. A tray sensor 12a for detecting a mounting position of the passing tray T on the conveyor from a side is provided on an outer side in the direction of conveyance of the conveyor 4.
