PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment for a vertical shaft, which dispenses with pipe arrangement when grout is infilled into a void between the vertical shaft and natural ground, after the completion of the construction of the vertical shaft 1, and which prevents a hindrance to the filling of the grout by ensuring a predetermined sealing effect, even if segments are circumferentially slightly displaced from each other, in the construction of the vertical shaft. SOLUTION: This segment constituting the vertical shaft comprises a segment body 1, at least one grout injecting hole 2 which is formed in the axial direction of the inside of the segment body 1, and an O-ring 3 as packing, which is arranged around an inlet 2A of the hole 2. The inlet of the hole 2 is opened in the top surface 1A of the axial joint surface of the segment body 1, and an outlet 2B of the hole 2 is opened in the undersurface 1B of the axial joint surface of the segment body 1.
