A flashlight (20) with a folding knife (50). When opened, the knife (50) extends out of the light (24) end of the flashlight (20). When closed, the k nife (50) is centered between two sets of batteries (90), providing balance for the flashlight (20). The flashlight (20) is put in the open configuratio n from the closed configuration by rotating the knife (50) about an axis.
