<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system in which a fuel cell can generate power by making oxidant gas flow, even if a valve is closed due to moisture freezing or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system 10 includes an oxidant gas supplying piping 42 to supply oxidant gas to a fuel cell 12, an oxidant gas exhausting piping 44 to exhaust the oxidant gas from the fuel cell 12, a first pressure adjusting valve 52 which is provided on the oxidant gas supplying piping 42 or the oxidant gas exhausting piping 44 and adjusts an oxidant gas pressure, a bypass piping 54 which is provided in parallel with the first pressure adjusting valve 52 and is connected with the oxidant gas supplying piping 42 or the oxidant gas exhausting piping 44 and a second pressure adjusting valve 56 which is provided on the bypass piping 54 and adjust a pressure when the first pressure adjusting valve 52 is closed.
