POLARIZING PLATE, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, OPTICAL FILM AND IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive for a polarizing plate which can suppress occurrence of kink.

SOLUTION: In the polarizing plate which is constituted by providing a transparent protective film on at least one surface of a polarizer via an adhesive layer, the adhesive layer is formed of the adhesive for the polarizing plate which is a resin solution comprising a poly(vinyl alcohol) resin, a cross-linking agent and metal compound colloid having 1 to 100 nm mean particle diameter. The metal compound colloid is compounded at a rate of ≤200 to 100 pts.wt. of the poly(vinyl alcohol) resin. The transparent protective film on at least one surface is a retardation plate having front retardation of ≥40 nm and/or thickness direction retardation of ≥80 nm.
