<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of a code reader without setting an exposure value in detail. <P>SOLUTION: CPU 10 acquires a mode value 32 of the exposure mode set by a mode setting switch SW, stores a value according to the mode value 32 in a maximum exposure value 35, a frame rate 37, and an LED brightness 39, sets an initial value to an exposure set value 33 based on the frame rate 37, exposes an input image by controlling an image sensor 70 with the exposure set value 33 and the LED brightness 39, and decodes a frame image 31 after transferring the read image data to a RAM 30. Such processes are ended when decoding is successful. When decoding is unsuccessful, it is determined whether or not the elapsed time is reached and when the time is reached, the code reading process is ended. When it is determined that the elapsed time is not reached, the exposure value is recalculated from the frame image 31 so that the exposure quantity may be optimal and the exposure set value 33 is updated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
