PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of releasing the lock of an optical connector used for connecting optical fibers and to easily attach and detach a plug even when the optical connector is disposed in a tight space. SOLUTION: The auxiliary device for releasing 6 includes: a base part which is provided fixedly on a receptacle 11; and an auxiliary lever 52 provided on a base part elastically deformably in the direction perpendicular to the deforming direction of a lever, and the auxiliary lever 52 has a tilted face abutting part 62 which is abutted on the end part of the lever 41 from the side direction, wherein the engagement parts 42 and 28 for preventing dropout are released by pressing and deforming the outer face side of the auxiliary lever 52 and pressing the tilted face abutting part 62 against the end part of the lever 41.
