PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of a gas turbine engine and to enable active clearance control, about the gas turbine engine. SOLUTION: The turbine 22 consists of a row of turbine blades 40 extending from a rotor disc outward in a radial direction, a turbine shroud 44 surrounding the row of turbine blades 40 and a turbine case 48 supporting a hanger 46 and having a hook 70, for supporting the shroud 44, protruding inward in the radial direction as a result. The case 48 includes a pair of control rails 76 radially outwardly extending above the hook 70. The rails 76 have holes for distributing therethrough pressured control air 34 to control thermal radial movement of the case 48 in the hook 70 and radial position of the shroud 44 is controlled as a result.
