<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a branch device for a tracked traffic system having an automatic steering mechanism and a fail-safe mechanism comprising a protective track and protective wheels, in which a vehicle can smoothly travel at an intersection between a wheel travel road surface and the protective track of a track branch section. <P>SOLUTION: The tracked traffic system, in which the vehicle travels along a track 01, is provided with a steering mechanism for automatically steering front and rear wheels by an actuator 36, and the fail-safe mechanism comprising the protective track 14 placed on a track road surface and the protective wheel provided under the vehicle and moving without contact along the protective track. The protective track 14 has a groove-like cross-section. A movable guidance plate 86 is provided at a branch section of the protective track, and connects the protective track 14 on an upstream side of the branch section to protective tracks 82, 84 on a downstream side of the branch section in a switchable manner. A width of the groove of the protective track at intersections 114, 116 of the protective track 82, 84 and wheel travelling surfaces 100, 92 is set to be a minimum width where the protective wheel 40 can pass through. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
