PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording head which enables writing in a hard disk magnetic recording medium having high coercivity to be switched at high speed. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording head 40 includes a write pole 42, a return pole 44, a wire positioned between the write pole 42 and the return pole 44, a first free layer 56, and a first interlayer 72 positioned between the write pole 42 and the first free layer 56.
