PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device quickly starting tracking control. SOLUTION: While a groove and a land can be discriminated by initial driving of an objective lens, and servo control and brake control are executed under optimal conditions when eccentricity occurs to facilitate pull-in of a spot, when the objective lens is driven in an inner peripheral direction, the spot is pulled in and the tracking control is started. When a TR control error occurs during spot pull-in in a first eccentric speed minimum area, the spot is pulled in in a next eccentric speed minimum area having an opposite eccentric direction, and the tracking control is started.
