PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately monitor the ground erosion state, without being affected by the erosion state of the ground. SOLUTION: This monitoring tool 1 is constituted, by disposing a plurality of openings 4 at a predetermined interval in a cylindrical stainless-steel outer case 2 and disposing a light-detecting sensor 3 corresponding to each opening 4. The monitoring tool 1 is inserted and set in a bore hole X drilled in a ground monitoring place, and monitors the ground erosion by detecting light having intruded into the opening due to erosion by fall or cracks of the ground with the light-detecting sensor 3.
