PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain M-alkalinity of boiler supply water to a predetermined value or more in a steam boiler device recycling condensate by mixing it with boiler supply water. SOLUTION: In a steam boiler 20, steam generated by heating the boiler supply water supplied from a water supply tank 12 for storing make-up water containing an alkaline component, is condensed after used in a load device 2, to become condensate. This condensate flows through a condensate line 30 and flows to a recovery line 32 or a waste line 33 by the change-over of a selector valve 34. The condensate flowing through the recovery line 32 is recovered into the water supply tank 12 and mixed with the make-up water so as to be recycled as the boiler supply water, whereas the condensate flowing to the waste line 33 is discarded without being recovered. The excessive dilution of the alkaline component with the condensate in make-up water stored in the water supply tank 12 is thereby avoided to maintain the M alkalinity of boiler supply water to the predetermined value or more.
