PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat sliding door unit, which further smoothly performs sliding door opening operation without complicating the structure. SOLUTION: The flat sliding door unit comprises: a guide part 4 provided on a first door plate 10; a guided part 5 provided on a second door plate; and an energizing means 6 longitudinally energizing the second door plate 20 toward the first door plate. The guide part 4 includes a surface having: a laterally extending straight section 41; and an inclined section 42 provided at the left end or right end of the straight section 41 continuously to the straight section 41. When the door unit is in an opened state, the guided part 5 is moved following the straight section in accordance with lateral sliding of the door plate. When the door unit is in a closed state, the guided part 5 is released from the guide part 4 and allows the second door plate 20 to displace toward the first door plate 10. When the door unit is shifted from the closed state to the opened state, the guided part 5 is moved following the inclined section 42 of the guide part 41 in contact with the inclined section 42, and guided to the straight section 41.
