PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel di(phenanthroline) derivative that exhibits excellent electron-transporting properties and is capable of forming a highly efficient blue phosphorescent element, an electron-transporting material comprised of the same and an organoelectroluminescent element comprising the same. SOLUTION: The di(phenanthroline) derivative is represented by general formula (1). The electron-transporting material is comprised of the same.
