ESTIMATION OF ATTENUATION COMPONENTS OF A PROPAGATED RADIO SIGNAL

Attenuation components are estimated as a function of a quantity of a signal received (Y_k)' such as power, measured in a receiver (RE) of a radiocommunication network. First and second attenuation components (P_k, S_k), such as a path decay and a mask effect, are estimated in real time as a function of the quantity measured according to smoothing and regression procedures. The first and second estimated attenuation components are subtracted from the quantity measured so as to produce in real time a third attenuation component (F_k) such as a fast fade.
