<p>A diagnosing apparatus capable of detecting, with reliability, a ground short between a linear solenoid valve and a circuit for driving the same. A diagnosing apparatus (10) diagnoses a ground short between a drive circuit (2) and a linear solenoid valve (1). The drive circuit (2) comprises a switching means (3) that supplies, based on input ON/OFF signals, a current to the linear solenoid valve (1) to variably adjust the opening degree thereof; a current determining means (4) that determines the current flowing from the switching means (3) to the linear solenoid valve (1); and a control means (5) that outputs, based on a determined current value from the current determining means (4), the ON/OFF signals to the switching means (3) such that the linear solenoid valve exhibits a target opening degree. The diagnosing apparatus (10) has a ground short detecting means (5) that detects switchings of the ON/OFF signals inputted to the switching means (3) and that, if the number of switchings between ON and OFF per predetermined time period is equal to or less than a predetermined number, then determines that a fault of ground short has occurred.</p> |
