PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning optical apparatus in which the shift of a light beam radiation position is corrected on a face to be scanned corresponding to the accuracy or the error in manufacturing of a housing, a lens and a mirror or the like. SOLUTION: The scanning optical apparatus 20 is provided with: a light source 22 which radiates laser light being a light beam; an optical deflector 40 which deflects the laser light from the light source 22 in a main scanning direction; and an optical system 50 which guides the laser light from the optical deflector 40 to the face to be scanned. Further, a flat glass plate 24 being a single light-transmissive flat plate member which is turnable around an axis line which is parallel to the main scanning direction of the light beam is provided on the optical path at the downstream side in the advancing direction of the light from the optical deflector 40. Thus, the optical axes are shifted parallel to each other between the upstream side and downstream side of the flat glass plate 24 in the advancing direction of the light.
