PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate terminating operation of an optical ferrule in assembling an optical connector. SOLUTION: The optical connector has such structure that an optical ferrule and a coil spring for pressing the optical ferrule forward is housed in the connector housing, and a repulsive force of the coil spring is received with a spring push 5 attached to the rear end of the connector housing. The spring push 5 is bisected into two halves 15. Since the spring push 5 is not unified but bisected, it can be put on an optical fiber after the optical fiber is mounted with the optical ferrule and terminated in assembling the optical connector. The terminating operation of the optical ferrule is facilitated by the elimination of the spring push obstructive to the operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
