PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device in which wettability and dispersion of a light-emitting layer solvent is made uniform even if materials of a plurality of layer materials are not differentiated which are functioning as barrier ribs demarcating through holes where a light-emitting layer material solution is filled up. SOLUTION: On a substrate 10, there is formed a barrier rib layer 13B demarcating each of a plurality of individual through holes 50B. Then, a common bank 13A is formed to surround a plurality of the individual through holes 50B and to demarcate common through holes 50A continuing to all of the individual through holes 50B. And, after an inorganic layer 14 is formed covering a surface of the barrier rib layer 13B, the substrate undergoes a fluorine plasma treatment and the inorganic layer 14 is removed. As a result, water repellency of a surface of the barrier rib layer 13B covered by the inorganic layer 14 becomes smaller than a surface of the common bank 13A not covered by the inorganic layer 14.
