PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a high-quality sewn product by protecting a base cloth from a laser beam with a backing sheet in the case of clipping a design piece and completely removing the backing sheet from the base cloth after clipping the design piece. SOLUTION: A backing sheet 28 is applied to a base cloth 22 of a uniform, etc., and a laser beam is applied to the backing sheet 28 along a cutting line inside of the contour line of the design piece 24 to clip out a part of the backing sheet 28 and form an opening 28a. The backing sheet 28 is covered with a stock cloth 29 and the design piece 24 is clipped out from the stock cloth 29 with a laser beam in a state where the base cloth 22 is shielded from the laser beam with the backing sheet 28 of the part encircling the opening 28a. After removing the backing sheet 28, the circumference of the design piece 24 is sewn to the base cloth 22. In a similar manner, a small-sized design piece 25 is pasted on the design piece 24.
